No One Wants To Aᴅᴏᴘᴛ ‘Uɢʟʏ’ Pit Bull Who Just Wants A Home

Every step in Wally’s life has been a sᴛʀᴜɢɢʟᴇ. The 10-ʏᴇᴀʀ-ᴏʟᴅ Pitbull Terrier mix arrived at the Town of Islip Animal Sʜᴇʟᴛᴇʀ after he most likely lived most of his life without a place to call home. Despite bearing the signs of his long life on the streets like being ʙʟɪɴᴅ ɪɴ ᴏɴᴇ ᴇʏᴇ and sᴜꜰꜰᴇʀɪɴɢ from ᴀ sᴇᴠᴇʀᴇ sᴋɪɴ ɪɴꜰᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ, Wally was just glad that he had found a safe loving place. Tʜᴇ sʜᴇʟᴛᴇʀ’s staff immediately fell in love with Wally’s loving and bubbly personality. He had a million sloppy kisses to spread around and was happy to share them with anyone who came into ᴛʜᴇ sʜᴇʟᴛᴇʀ.

Wally is an ᴜɴᴄᴏɴᴠᴇɴᴛɪᴏɴᴀʟ-ʟᴏᴏᴋɪɴɢ dog. Unfortunately, he had a ᴛᴏᴜɢʜ life and is just looking for a new family that will love him no matter what. When Wally was first brought to the Town of Islip Animal Sʜᴇʟᴛᴇʀ on Long Island, Nᴇᴡ Yᴏʀᴋ, he was a 10-ʏᴇᴀʀ-ᴏʟᴅ sᴛʀᴀʏ dog. He was taken to ᴠᴇᴛ where it was discovered that Wally had some ʜᴇᴀʟᴛʜ ᴘʀᴏʙʟᴇᴍs, including ᴀ sᴋɪɴ ɪɴꜰᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ and ʙʟɪɴᴅɴᴇss in one eye. These problems gave ᴘᴏᴏʀ Wally an appearance. So, the Sʜᴇʟᴛᴇʀ staff was worried that it would turn potential Aᴅᴏᴘᴛers away, but they hoped that everyone else would be able to see the wonderful dog that they’d quickly fallen in love with. “He loves to slobber on you and will do anything for some food,” Danielle Gorle, a ᴠᴇᴛerinary technician at the Town of Islip Animal Shelter, told. “He also likes to just hang out and not do anything.”

Wally has so much love to give and just wants to find a family to share it with — but unfortunately, it’s been over a year, and the sweet dog is still waiting at ᴛʜᴇ sʜᴇʟᴛᴇʀ. As a senior dog, Wally just wants somewhere to live out his golden years in peace, and his rescuers are hoping they can find him a forever family as soon as possible, as Sʜᴇʟᴛᴇʀ life is starting to take its toll on him.

“He seems to be ᴅᴇᴄʟɪɴɪɴɢ,” Gorle said. “He was happier when he first came in. He likes when he gets to go out but he seems ᴅᴇᴘʀᴇssᴇᴅ in his kennel.” Wally would do best in a quiet home with no stairs, no kids under the age of 15 and no other pets. He also needs a family who understands his medical needs — but other than that, all Wally needs is love, and he’ll give it all right back to you in return. Do you happen to live near Long Island, NY and looking to bring a loving senior dog into your home? Wally will definitely appreciate and cherish you for giving him a home and would pay you back with infinite love, affection, and slobbering.
